I'm a fan of this image. It depicts something we should all be aware of as it doesn't just occur in poor areas, it happens under our noses everyday. Great story.

wong3561:08:08 on 12/04/2008
This is not just a picture, it tells us a story too...

Joaquin:01:26 on 13/04/2008
CONGRATULATIONS!! ITS A PROBLEM WE ALL SHULD BE AWARE OF, NO MATTER THE COUNTRY...

ma1997:05:48 on 18/04/2008
Amazing shot! What a depressing story. What is heart breaking is the child in this photo, so young and already in the streets. The positions that both the child and mother are in seems like a photo out of a police murder case. They are dead to society because our society ignores them just like the fast moving train. You have my vote.

rickjh:03:57 on 18/04/2008
This picture encapsulates real drama: the danger presented by the train is real and yet symbolic of how close they are to utter obliteration from human consciousness. They sleep so close to what must be an intolerable clatter ... are they asleep or ... worse? Such a powerful image.

Thank you for all of your apreciation to my picture. With this photo i just wanna tell that homeless and the other urban problem are realy our "enemy" that have to be solved by us, and of course by all of the government in every country in the world, thank's (Gunawan Wicaksono)

Heartbreaking to know that it does happen in some parts of the world.

nai20026:01:00 on 18/05/2008
interesting picture....
i feel perhaps this photograph is actually exploiting the tragic life of this poor woman rather than "raising awareness" to a issue that the whole world is already well aware of. sympathy and pity are no answer to this problem and believe me, as a former homeless person myself, sympathy and pity are certainly no alternative to simple respect. think about it this way... how do you think that woman and her small child (assuming they are still alive) feel about their situation assisting you with your hobby?
I would also like to raise a point based on a previous response to your photograph... to the person who claims this photo could not be taken elsewhere, open your eyes the next time you leave your house, this photograph can be replicated on the side streets and underground of every town, everywhere because there are people struggling everywhere.
i would also like to question the title of this photo, how could the word "dream" possibly be used to describe the tragedy depicted? although i would agree with the latter part, this is reality.
i just hope that your exploitation of this woman and child win you the prize for this so that you and your consience can enjoy the money together, don't worry i'm sure somebody threw that lady some change today... i hope this will not be the only wage she will receive as a model for your photography.

I can't understand why they wouldn't move away from the track. surely even the other side of that particular platform would have been safer and quieter.

Steve Polky:07:34 on 26/05/2008
There's so much in this picture that it deserves to win something. I hope you donate the prize to the poor subjects who made it for you.

This hurts so much!!! It makes anyones heart ake and cry. It's so unfair and cruel.

gcabig:01:59 on 05/07/2008
is this true, i know security guard won't allow somebody to sleep on railway station especially near the rail road.

OH my goodness, You have my vote.

This has really twicked my emotional cords and I feel so many emotions, among them I feel ashamed that another woman and her doll baby are living like this, in a time when ignorance is no longer an excuse.

Thank you for a very sad, but compelling pic.

superphilman:06:30 on 27/07/2008
I cannot praise someone who on being confronted by this, took out his camera and did nothing else. As well as this I simple don't trust the image or understand why they would have just slept even three feet to the left of where they where.

tiggatiger:12:35 on 29/07/2008
an amazing photo. It not only shows the saddness of this homeless woman and her child, but the fast paced world that passes by and sadly ignores her. A good imaging using shutter speed. Bravo.
